David Byrne & Brian Eno
Everything That Happens Will Happen Today (2008)

BYRNE/ENO-Everthing That Happens Will Happen Today

Our album of the month comes from two veterans in the world of popular music. Veterans as well as innovators and favourites among the critics. So it's no surprise that the reviews of Everything That Happens Will Happen Today by and large were positive without reaching the heights of the reviews that accompanied Byrne & Eno's previous collaboration; My Life in the Bush of Ghosts from 1981.

Working without the help of any label and released on the web with actual CD:s a couple of months later, this was greeted as a welcome work from a couple that probably wouldn't deliver anything sensational this far into their respective careers, but certainly would offer up something above average. Byrne and Eno equals quality.

The album was written with Eno sending some music to Byrne that Byrne had said he could write lyrics to. The songs flew back and forth without the two of them spending that much time in the same room to get the album done.
Inspired in part by gospel music we think it is the perfect Album of the Month as autumn and darkness comes creeping. It's a positive and - dare we say it - "feelgood album". There, we said it!
