ALBUM OF THE MONTH

KATE BUSH "Hounds Of Love"

Album # 37 is Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush from 1985.

Kate Bush most successful album; Hounds Of Love, came three years after The Dreaming was considered something of a disappointment compared to her earlier albums.

She recorded Hounds... in her new 48-track studio away from the record company and everything else, and the result is her strongest album to date. It's full of nuances and a demanding listen. Creating her own world in music and words. The sequenced songs And Dream Of Sheep, Under Ice and Waking The Witch is a trip!

Definitely not to everyone's taste, Kate Bush has still managed to create quite a successful career.
Helped to a contract with EMI only 16 years old thanks in part to Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, the record company decided to let Kate grow as a person and artist, finally making her record debut in 1977. The early albums followed in quick order; The Kick Inside and Lionheart (both 1978), Never For Ever 1980 and The Dreaming (1982).

She stopped touring in 1980.

Keeping an e-x-t-r-a low profile after Hounds... there's been just two more albums from Kate Bush; The Sensual World in 1989 and The Red Shoes in 1993.

Her eight album is promised in 2005. Perhaps even as early as this month (March 2005). But we won't hold our breath. Being an album that she began recording in 2001, no one can blame Kate for rushing her records out.
