PEPS BLODSBAND "Hög standard"

#10 is a classic Swedish album from the 1970's: Peps Blodsband's "Hög Standard".

The cover shows the band members packjammed into the backseat of a car, a parody of a '75 Abba album cover. The Abba album shows the four members of the group dressed in luxury clothes sitting in a car drinking champagne.

The members of Peps Blodsband look more like hobos. They drink coffee out of a thermo bottle and all other details of the Abba cover are reversed in a similar way. Hög Standard (High Standard) is one of the most famous albums from the swedish prog era.

This is probably one of the first swedish albums that included elements of reggae and it's worth checking out this neat hybrid of reggae, rock and swedish folk music. Note that the swedish prog of the 70's was very politically orientated with a heavy left wing bias. The political message was the important thing, not the music. This album is an exception of that.
